Pomona Artesian Irrigation serves the Yakima area, managing 70 water shares and 65 residential homes. The selection of BasicBMS was noted in this year’s company minutes as their preferred billing solution going forward. Implementation is now underway.
What Is Being Deployed
The implementation covers the following BasicBMS modules:
– CRM — Customer accounts, service addresses, and water shares tracked in one connected record
– Invoicing — Billing for water shares and residential customers
– Stripe Credit Card Processing — Customer payments via Stripe Checkout with automatic GL updates
– Scheduler — Field compliance, meter testing, and service appointment tracking
– Map Feature — Visual mapping of meter locations and service addresses
– Workorders — Tracking of time for job costing
What This Demonstrates
The Pomona project is a clear example of what BasicBMS was designed to do: adapt to the operational reality of the business using it — not force the business to adapt to the software.
Water utility management has the same core needs as any service-based operation — customer management, asset tracking, invoicing, payment collection, and field scheduling. BasicBMS handles all of it in one system, at a price point that makes sense for a small utility operator.
Future phases will include automated recurring billing and an exploration of Badger Meter reading integration with the billing system.
